TimberTech & AZEK Decking

Fredericksburg Deck Builders builds low-maintenance outdoor living spaces with TimberTech and AZEK decking. TimberTech gives you two ways to go: TimberTech Composite, a capped composite board with the warmth and grain of real wood, and TimberTech AZEK, a 100% PVC board with no wood flour in it at all. Both resist rot, splintering, fading and staining, and neither one ever needs sanding or staining. We pair them with quality framing and matching TimberTech railing so the entire deck is built to last.

Our Portfolio

TimberTech AZEK: 100% PVC decking

TimberTech AZEK boards contain no wood flour, and that is what sets them apart from most composite decking. There is no organic material inside the board for moisture to feed on, so an AZEK deck handles Virginia’s humid summers and wet winters without swelling, cupping or growing mold in the board itself. AZEK is also engineered to stay cooler underfoot than comparable-color composite boards, which you notice on a south-facing deck in July. The line is backed by a 50-year limited product warranty and a 50-year fade and stain warranty.

TimberTech Composite: capped composite decking

TimberTech Composite boards blend reclaimed wood fiber with polymer and add a protective cap over the surface. You get a deeper, more convincingly wood-like grain and a lower price point than full PVC, with the same freedom from sanding, staining and sealing every other spring. Most TimberTech Composite collections carry a 30-year limited product warranty along with a 30-year fade and stain warranty.

AZEK trim, porch and TimberTech railing

Decking is only part of the job. AZEK also makes PVC trim, moulding, column wraps and porch flooring, and TimberTech makes railing in aluminum, composite and PVC. Building the deck boards, the railing, the fascia and the trim out of the same family of products means the colors actually match and every part of the structure ages at the same rate.

TimberTech or Trex? We install both.

We are not locked into a single brand, so we can walk you through the honest differences in surface heat, color range, grain pattern, warranty length and cost, and then let you decide. If you want to compare, have a look at our Trex decking page, or our wood deck option if you would rather build in pressure-treated lumber. We can also resurface an existing frame in TimberTech or AZEK, which is covered on our deck resurfacing page.
