Screen Porch
Screen porches are built to match and complement your house’s exterior design. Our typical screen porch consists of a flat 8โ ceiling height. Each screen porch has quality finishes such as Variform White beaded vinyl soffit, Trex Enhance Basic Decking, ScreenEze Screening System, Trex Select Railings, with all the posts and headers wrapped with PVC. Each porch can be fully customized to accommodate your house, style, budget, and needs.
The ScreenEze Screening System
ScreenEze is an aluminum base with a vinyl snap-on cap. We stretch the screen over the base and snap the cap down on top of it, which pulls the mesh drum-tight and holds it there. There is no spline to work loose and no wooden screen frame to paint, so the panels stay flat instead of rippling after a few seasons. Caps come in White, Bronze, Clay, and Sand, and we pick the color against your trim and railing rather than in isolation. If a panel ever gets torn, we pop that one cap, re-stretch it, and snap it back down.
Decking Choices for a Screened Porch
The spec above reflects a Trex Enhance floor, and we still build plenty of porches that way. Most of our porch floors today go down in TimberTech and AZEK. On a covered porch the case for them is even stronger than on an open deck, because the floor is holding furniture and rugs year round and you are usually walking on it barefoot. We frame at 12 inches on center as standard, which is tighter than code minimum and is why our porch floors feel solid rather than springy.
Want Glass Instead of Screen?
The same porch openings can be glazed with Oasis vinyl window panels instead of screened. The panels slide and stack, so you can close the porch against wind and driving rain in March and open it back up to full screen in June. If you are weighing screen against windows, our covered porch guide lays out all three levels side by side, including honest expectations about what a vinyl enclosure will and will not do in January.
