Front Porch

Front porches are constructed with Lumber or Masonry structure to match the style of your house or to set it apart. We use Flagstone, concrete, pressure treated lumber, or Trex as your flooring and the Front porch will be custom designed and engineered to meet your needs or budget.

Open, Screened, or Enclosed

A front porch does not have to stay open. The same structure can be screened with the ScreenEze system or glazed with Oasis vinyl window panels, which turns a front porch into a room you can use in March and November instead of just May and September. On a front elevation this is a design decision as much as a comfort one, so we mock up how the posts, headers, and screen lines will read from the street before anybody commits. Flooring and Framing

Flagstone and concrete still make sense on a porch that sits low and tight to the ground. Where the porch is framed and elevated, most of our floors today go down in TimberTech and AZEK, which hold their color in the partial shade a porch roof creates and do not need sanding and sealing every spring. We also install Trex. We frame at 12 inches on center as standard, tighter than code minimum.

Details That Make a Porch Look Built, Not Added

Wrapped posts and headers, a finished ceiling rather than exposed framing, and lighting and fan boxes roughed in before the ceiling closes up. Matching railing matters more on a front porch than anywhere else on the house, because it is the first thing anyone sees. These are the details that decide whether a new porch reads as original to the house or as an afterthought bolted onto the front of it.
